Subtext
Not sure how to reply? Subtext is a Chrome overlay for ambiguous Messenger and Instagram replies: a cautious read of what they probably mean, plus a natural reply draft.
Type AppYear 2026
Outcome A reply helper for Messenger and Instagram, on the Chrome Web Store
The story
Open a message’s ⋯ menu and choose Read with Subtext. It reads the thread, not just the last line: who said what, quoted replies, what’s already settled. In group chats it can tell you a message isn’t for you and no reply is needed.
OpenAI writes cautious interpretations and reply drafts, and TypeSafe’s Jev ranks the options. Drafts follow how you actually text, Taglish included, from your own sent messages.
Readings are estimates, not knowledge of anyone’s intentions: a good read, not mind reading. Subtext never sends, edits or reacts to a message. Copy copies the reply, and you send it yourself.
