MISA Registration System
The story
For an org as large as MISA, simple admin work had become an operational headache. Member tracking was scattered and manual, and figuring out who could vote in elections meant cross-referencing attendance across multiple spreadsheets: slow, and prone to error. MISA needed a single source of truth.
I was one of two lead developers on a structured team with project managers running sprints, a UX designer and a systems documentation lead. My co-lead Edward and I built the check-in UI and connected it to the master member database, working closely with our designer Helena so her designs stayed feasible and easy to use.
Operations managers use it on a laptop or tablet at the entrance of any event: find the member, one click, and they’re marked as attended in the master sheet.
What came of it
Check-ins got 75% faster, the team has a single view of member engagement, and election prep no longer depends on comparing spreadsheets by hand. It became the standard check-in flow for MISA events.
